[Electronic] Cloudlight- Eskmo

Hello anyone out there who still views my blog, sorry I havent posted in such a long time. I am planning on restarting my posts, adding new music that I have heard over the last few months. This first posts comes from Eskmo, a electronic performer based out of San Francisco. I first heard this song when one of my friends played it, and I was instantly hooked. This song has such a different feel to it than most songs that I have posted previously, but that just makes it even more perfect for this blog.

[Indie] The General- Dispatch

Dispatch is an American Indie/Roots band. They have a very unique style, it is kind of a mix between reggae and light rock music. I first heard this song a couple of years ago when a couple of my friends were playing it on guitars. I was interested by their rendition, so I got the actual song, and have loved it ever since. This song is a classic that most of my friends know, and when ever I play it, we all end up singing along. I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do.

[Hip/Hop] Dear Professor- Dean's List

This is one of those songs that the first time you hear it your like yea, that was a pretty decent song, but then later, you cant stop listening to it. This song takes the lyrics from a country song, but puts a twist on them and turns them into a dope hook. After listening to this song a couple times, it was easily one of my favorite songs. The only bad thing about this song is that it is so short. It is one of those songs that you wish was at least 5 minutes long so you could keep listening to it.

[Hip/Hop] Happymess- Atmosphere

Atmosphere is a rap group that I wouldn't quite consider underground, but they are definitely a less known group that are pretty dope. This song in particular is a song that always puts me in a good mood. The beat is sick and the use of hums in the beat is very unique. Most of Atmospheres music is slower paced rap, but they are still just as talented as any main stream artist. If you like this song, you should definitely check out some more of their music. Their songs are always good to listen to if you are feeling down because their style is up beat and they make such good music.

[Hip/Hop] Acid Raindrops- People Under the Stairs

I first heard this song when my friend sent it to me a couple of years ago, and I was instantly hooked. It is a great song to sit and vibe to. Once again, this is a very slow paced song that is great for relaxing. The instrumentals that make up the beat give it a very mellow feel and this song overall is great. I have never actually heard any other music from this artist, but if I were to judge them on this song alone, I would say they are a very talented underground group that deserves props for this song.

[Alternative] Into the Ocean- Blue October

Blue October is a group that I just recently started listening to, but instantly became one of my favorite alternative bands. For this post, I am choosing to share their song Into the Ocean. This song is a slower paced song and is a great song to listen to if you are in the mood for something a little mellower. This song has great instrumentals, including an instrument(not quite sure what its called) that I have never heard before in a song. If you like this artist, I recommend checking out their song Calling You. Another great song, and if you can, listen to the acoustic version. In my opinion, it is better than the original.

[Techno] Thunderstruck-AC/DC(Crookers Remix)

When I first heard this song, I was driving with a bunch of my friends. Later that day, I was trying to figure out what the song was called, but couldn't figure it out. It took me a couple of days to find it again, but when I finally did, I listened to it multiple times just to hear the drop again. The drop in this song is dope. Crookers is a group that does a lot of mixes of songs that all already in existence, but some of their stuff is hit or miss. With this song, they definitely got a hit.

[Rock] Fiction- Avenged Sevenfold

Avenged Sevenfold is one of the first rock groups that I really started listening to. Again, this is another group that makes alot of good music. Their first few albums were more hardcore rock, but once they changed their style a little and calmed down some, they became one of my favorite bands. This song starts off with a long intro, but opens up as it continues. When I first heard started listening to this song, it had the most plays out of any other song in my iTunes. When listening to this song, you can tell there is alot of meaning behind it, and it just makes me like this song that much more.

[Hip/Hop] Cookin' Keys- Jedi Mind Tricks

Jedi Mind Tricks is a group that is essentially the same members as Army of the Pharaohs (view earlier post). As I said before, this group is and amazing rap group that has consistently good music. For this song in particular, I chose one of their songs that has a very mellow beat to it, but is still a good party song. I have played this song on many occasions to several different groups of people, and the feed back is always good. The hook is a little strange, but the song overall is dope. Also, the name of this album is pretty sick, "Servants in Heaven, Kings in Hell". I don't know about you, but I think that is a pretty dope name for and album. I will definitely be posting more songs from them in the future.

[Hip/Hop] Doctor's Advocate- The Game Ft. Busta Rhymes

The Game is a rapper that I really started listening to a couple of years ago, and instantly became probably my favorite artist from any genre. I own almost all of his albums on iTunes, and he is another one of those artists that has only good music. This song in particular has a lot of meaning to it and is really a great song to listen to whenever you are in the mood to reminisce. Featured in this song is Busta Rhymes, another artist that I find to be very underrated. For me, this song has connotations as an inside joke and as a classic song that can always make me feel good. I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do.

[Rock] The Good Left Undone- Rise Against

Rise Against, an American rock band out of Chicago, is a rock band that I really enjoy listening to. For this song choice, I choose one of the first songs that I heard by Rise Against. I first heard this song about four years ago, and it still remains my favorite Rise Against song. What I really enjoy about Rise Against is that they are rock, but their music is usually pretty calm. They are one of the few artists in my iTunes that I never skip over when my songs are shuffling. This song is good for any occasion, whether it be driving or doing homework.

[Hip/Hop] 100 Bars of Death- Ya Boy

Ya Boy is a rapper out of the Bay Area that I feel is very underrated. I have heard many artist, but Ya Boy is one of the only one who constantly has sick verses and continues to spit rhymes that I have to rewind and repeat because they are so dope. Even though Ya Boy is more of a small time rapper out of the Bay, he is definitely one of the best rappers I have heard, and this song is his way of backing that up.

[Rock] Breath- Breaking Benjamin

Breaking Benjamin, an American rock group out of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, is a group that I really enjoy listening to. A couple of years ago, I started listening to groups such as Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park, Rise Against, and while searching these types of groups, I discovered Breaking Benjamin. Now over the years as I have listened to new music throughout all genres, this song is still a favorite of mine.

[Electronica] Scary Monster and Nice Spirits- Skrillex

Skrillex, real name Sonny Moore, is a music produces out of Los Angeles, California. When talking about new electonica/dubstep music, Skrillex is one of the bigger names that everyone has heard of. I have quite a few of his songs on my iTunes, but had never really listened to this song before until the other day. I played it over multiple times and have been listening to it constantly the last few days. It is a very chill song that is good to listen to no matter what music your in the mood for.

[Rock] Giants Among Common Men- Jamie's Elsewhere

This band is a rock band started out of Sacramento, California. Now I had never really heard of this group before, but I stumbled upon this song one day and was instantly hooked. I am not normally into screamo music, but this song makes up for it. Even though there is quite a bit of screaming in this song, I really like the vocals in between all of that and have really come to like the song as a whole. If you like rock music, I feel like you will really enjoy this song.

[Hip/Hop] Godzilla- Army of the Pharaohs

Army of the Pharaohs, a group composed of Vinnie Paz, Chief Kamachi, Esoteric, Virtuoso and Bahamadia, is group that has consistently good songs. I have listen to almost every one of their songs, and can honestly say they dont have any bad music. They are dope group that I believe to be one of the best underground rap groups in existence. This song in particular really caught my attention with its sick opening, with great verses in there as well. If you like this song, check out more of their stuff, cause its all raw.

[Hip/Hop] Renegade- Eminem & Jay-Z

This is my first blog post on a blog I should have made weeks ago... Anyways this blog is an extension on a senior project for the woodside priory school. In this project, my two friends and I decided to make a website to bring attention to underground music and genres that people would otherwise not listen to. We had initially planned to make one central site with individual pages, but when complications arose, we decided a blog format would be much easier to finish with. With my blog I plan to post form almost every genre. My main focus will be Hip/Hop and Rap, but will branch out into other genres as well. K, I know this song isn't actually and underground song, it is still my all time favorite song. It is a chill song all around, and every verse is equally as dope as the next.
